Boyhood and lifelong pals, Dr. Richard Jones (left) and T. Michael McCormick (right), explore the myths and mysteries of cancer, as a conversation between a cancer expert and a lay person who has experienced many of the faces of cancer thoughout his life.
Rick (the cancer expert) is currently Professor of Oncology and Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He is a renowned cancer researcher, clinician, and teacher.
Mike (the lay person) was schooled in the liberal arts and educational psychology at Bucknell University. He recently retired from a long career in information technology management.
Our goals for this book and website are to:
• improve the understanding of what is known and not yet known about cancer
• debunk some of the myths that surround the disease
• enable the asking of good questions that will allow informed decision-making with the help of physicians, family, and friends
• most importantly, allow cancer to be approached with more hope, and less worry and fear
